But, let’s agree on some points first:

1-   I am not pretending, by no means, that the following is the only way to clean malicious threats off your computers, this is a tested method though & it proved to be efficient & effective on Windows XP & Windows Vista.

2-   An easier way may be by using the Avast BART CD, especially if your windows is not booting up at all; but you have to watch out in this case if the executable files are infected & the only option is to delete them.

3-   Most of the times, formatting [or OSR (Operating System Reinstallation)] is not a solution, especially if you have more than one partition on your drive & you only format the system partition while autorun.inf is waiting for you on the other partition to re-devastate your system. Let me draw your attention to NEVER double click or accept autorun on any drive or partition; always refer to windows explorer, right click on the volume & then click on explore!!!

4-   PLEASE, run the tools as administrators in windows Vista.

5-   PLEASE, stop your antivirus or security suites if you are not to apply this methodology in safe mode because some of the tools to be used will be suspected to be threats!!!
